Algiers in August
Not the best time
August is peak season for masochists and people who genuinely love intense heat. The city slows to a crawl during daylight hours, making evening the real day.
Weather
August maintains July's punishing heat with temperatures that make you question your travel timing. The city shimmers in the heat, humidity feels oppressive, and even locals adapt their schedules around the sun. Night offers the only real relief.

All Months
March through May brings perfect weather — warm days around 70°F and cool evenings ideal for walking the Casbah. Spring also means fewer crowds and lower hotel prices.
Fall, from September through November, offers the same comfortable temperatures with the bonus of still-warm Mediterranean waters. October hits the sweet spot with minimal rain and maximum sunshine.
Summer gets brutally hot. July and August see temperatures pushing 95°F with humidity that makes exploring the upper city miserable. But this is when locals head to the beaches, and you'll see Algiers at its most relaxed.
Winter stays mild compared to Europe — rarely below 50°F — but brings frequent rain. December through February works for budget travelers who don't mind gray skies and the occasional downpour. Many attractions reduce their hours, and some coastal restaurants close entirely.
