April through May and September through November are your sweet spots for Ashgabat. The desert heat in summer is genuinely dangerous - we're talking 120°F days that'll melt your phone. Winter brings surprising cold, with January temperatures dropping to 20°F and occasional snow dusting the marble monuments. Spring arrives early, with March temperatures hitting a comfortable 70°F and the desert briefly turning green. But May is perfect - warm days around 85°F, cool evenings, and clear skies that make the marble architecture glow at sunset. Fall mirrors spring but with less wind.
