Bath in March
Good time to visit
March marks the turning point when Bath starts to feel alive again after winter's gloom. The Literature Festival adds cultural buzz, and while it's still chilly, those first hints of spring make walking the Georgian streets genuinely pleasant.
Weather
March shows the first real signs of spring, with temperatures creeping up to 11°C and daffodils popping up in Royal Victoria Park. You'll still get about 10 rainy days, but there's more sunshine between the showers. The limestone buildings start to look golden again instead of grey.

All Months
May through September offers the best weather and longest days. Summer temperatures rarely top 25°C, perfect for walking those Georgian streets without overheating.
June brings the Bath Festival — three weeks of classical music, literature, and jazz. Book accommodation early as prices jump 30% during festival weeks.
July and August see the biggest crowds. The Roman Baths queue stretches around the block by noon, and restaurants fill up fast. But the weather's most reliable and all attractions run extended hours.
September might be the sweet spot. Crowds thin out after school holidays, but weather stays mild. The autumn light makes those honey-colored buildings glow.
Winter has charm if you don't mind shorter days. The Christmas Market (late November to mid-December) transforms the city center into something from a Dickens novel. Hotel prices drop significantly, and you'll have attractions mostly to yourself.
Avoid weekends if possible — day-trippers from London pack the streets. Tuesday through Thursday offers the best balance of open attractions and manageable crowds.
