November through March is prime time. Temperatures hover around 25-30°C with minimal rain and clear skies perfect for temple hopping. December and January are peak months — book accommodation early as the better guesthouses fill up. April and May turn brutal with 40°C+ heat that'll melt your enthusiasm for sightseeing. The rainy season from June to October brings afternoon downpours but fewer crowds and lush countryside. Roads to remote temples can flood, so factor that in. Early morning visits to Phnom Banan temple work best before 9am when the heat kicks in. The Pchum Ben festival in September/October brings incredible temple ceremonies but also higher prices.
