All Months

Here's Bonaire's secret weapon: there really isn't a bad time to visit. The island sits outside the hurricane belt and enjoys consistent trade winds year-round. The high season runs December through April, when North Americans flee winter weather. Expect crowds at popular dive sites and higher accommodation prices – sometimes 30-40% more than low season. But the weather is absolutely perfect: mid-80s temperatures, minimal rain, and constant breezes. May through November is technically low season, but don't let that fool you. Temperatures climb into the low 90s, and you'll get occasional rain showers. But here's the upside: fewer crowds, better deals on hotels, and the diving conditions remain excellent. September and October see the most rain, but we're talking short afternoon showers, not week-long deluges. For the best balance of weather and value, consider visiting in May or November. You'll catch the tail ends of high and low seasons respectively, with decent weather and moderate crowds. Divers should know that visibility is consistently excellent year-round – usually 80-100+ feet. Water temperatures hover around 80-82°F, making wetsuit decisions easy. Avoid visiting during Carnival in February or March if you want a quiet getaway. The island transforms into party central, with street parades and non-stop music. Great if that's your scene, overwhelming if it's not.
