Chișinău in March
Good time to visit
March shows glimmers of hope but remains unpredictable and often wet. The Mărțișor Festival adds cultural interest, but the weather still keeps most tourists away.
Weather
March teases spring but delivers disappointment more often than not. Temperatures hover just above freezing during the day, dropping back below at night. Rain becomes more frequent than snow, but don't pack away the winter coat yet - cold snaps can return without warning.

All Months
April through October gives you the best weather without the summer crowds that don't exist anyway. May and September are perfect – warm days, cool nights, and the wine harvest season brings festivals. July and August get hot (30°C+) but that's when outdoor terraces come alive. Winter is harsh and gray, but if you're into Soviet aesthetics, snow-covered brutalist buildings have a certain dystopian beauty. Avoid November – it's just cold and rainy. Wine harvest season in September offers cellar tours and tastings at their peak.
