Cincinnati in August
Great time to visit
August brings Cincinnati's most challenging weather but also Oktoberfest Zinzinnati. The heat is brutal, but the beer flows freely downtown.
Weather
August maintains July's heat and humidity with little relief in sight. This is Cincinnati's stickiest month, with dewpoints that make evening walks feel like saunas. Thunderstorms become more frequent and can pack a punch.

All Months
April through October gives you Cincinnati at its most pleasant. Spring arrives early here — by April, you can walk around comfortably and catch Opening Day at Great American Ball Park, which feels like a city holiday.
Summer gets humid, but that's when the city comes alive. Outdoor concerts at Riverbend, rooftop bars in Over-the-Rhine, and river festivals make the sweat worthwhile. July temperatures hit the high 80s regularly, so pack accordingly.
Fall might be peak Cincinnati. September and October offer perfect weather for walking around, plus Oktoberfest Zinzinnati takes over downtown in late September — it's one of the country's largest Oktoberfest celebrations, and the German heritage actually makes it feel authentic.
Winter isn't terrible, but it's not great either. Temperatures hover around freezing, and the city takes on that gray Midwest vibe. But hotel rates drop significantly, and you'll have attractions mostly to yourself. The Christmas season brings decent holiday markets downtown.
