Clarksdale in June
Not the best time
June kicks off the challenging summer season. The heat is manageable if you plan around it, but this is when many visitors start avoiding the Delta.
Weather
June ushers in the oppressive Delta summer. Temperatures soar to 32°C during the day with muggy nights around 22°C. Humidity makes it feel even hotter, and afternoon thunderstorms provide only temporary relief.

June Tips
- •Start early - do outdoor activities before 10am
- •Seek air-conditioned venues during midday heat
- •Stay hydrated - the humidity is brutal
All Months
Spring and fall are perfect - March through May and October through November give you mild weather and blooming cotton fields. The Sunflower River Blues Festival in August brings crowds but also incredible music. Summer is brutal - we're talking 95 degrees with Mississippi humidity that feels like swimming through soup. Winter is surprisingly cold and gray, though you'll have the juke joints mostly to yourself. But here's what matters more than weather: come on a weekend. Red's Lounge and Ground Zero only really come alive Thursday through Saturday nights. The Delta Blues Museum is open year-round, but the town's musical soul reveals itself after dark on weekends.
