  • Perfect weather for hiking in nearby Konavle region
  • Restaurants offer better service as pressure decreases

All Months

May and October offer the sweet spot — warm enough for swimming but without the crushing crowds. Hotel prices drop 40% compared to July, and you can actually walk the walls without feeling like cattle. Summer brings 30°C heat and cruise ship crowds that can make Old Town unbearable between 10am-4pm. But the late evenings are magical, and every restaurant terrace stays open until midnight. Just book accommodations months ahead and expect to pay peak prices. April works if you don't mind cooler water — around 18°C — but many seasonal restaurants haven't opened yet. September gives you the best weather with fewer crowds, though occasional rain showers pop up. Winter sees most tourist-focused restaurants close, but you'll have the walls almost to yourself. Temperatures hover around 15°C, perfect for exploring without sweating through your shirt. Just don't count on beach time.
