Ephesus in February
Good time to visit
February remains quiet and moody, with fewer rainy days than January. The ancient city feels mysterious in the mist, but practical challenges remain with weather and limited services.
Weather
February continues the winter pattern with cool days and frequent rain showers. Morning fog often shrouds the Library of Celsus until mid-morning. Humidity stays high, making it feel colder than the actual temperature.

February Tips
- •Bring layers for temperature swings throughout the day
- •Start your visit after 10am when fog clears
- •Book accommodations in advance as many hotels close for maintenance
All Months
April and May bring wildflowers blooming between the marble columns, plus comfortable 22°C temperatures. September and October offer the same pleasant weather without the spring crowds. Summer heat makes the marble surfaces scorching – we're talking 40°C+ with no shade among the ruins. Winter brings rain and many tourist services close, but you'll have the Library of Celsus practically to yourself. The site opens at 8am, and serious photographers arrive then for golden hour light on the facades. By noon in summer, the marble radiates heat like a pizza oven. Sunset tours run April through October, ending with the ruins dramatically lit against the darkening sky.
