Florianópolis in July
Not the best time
The coldest, wettest month when this beach destination loses much of its appeal. Only consider visiting if you're on a tight budget or plan to explore the surrounding region instead of beaches.
Weather
July brings the coldest temperatures of the year with frequent overcast skies. Rain falls steadily rather than in tropical bursts, creating gray, dreary days. Strong winds from the south make it feel even colder than the thermometer suggests.

All Months
December through April delivers peak Floripa magic. Summer temperatures hover around 28°C, perfect for beach days that stretch until 8 PM. But brace yourself for crowds — this is when all of Brazil descends on the island.
January and February bring the biggest party energy. New Year's Eve at Jurerê Internacional rivals Rio's celebrations. Carnival in February turns the entire island into one giant street party. Book accommodations months ahead or pay premium prices.
March and April offer the sweet spot. Weather stays warm, but the crowds thin out after Carnival. Hotel prices drop 30-40%, and you can actually find parking at popular beaches.
May through November? Skip it unless you're here for work. Temperatures drop to 15°C, rain falls constantly, and half the beach bars close. The island transforms into a sleepy fishing community — charming for locals, disappointing for beach seekers.
