Fredericksburg in May
Great time to visit
May extends the wildflower magic with slightly warmer weather and the first peach harvests. Still busy and expensive, but the later wildflowers and early peaches make it worthwhile.

All Months
Spring and fall own this place. March through May brings wildflowers – bluebonnets carpet the roadsides and Indian paintbrush dots the hills. Temperatures sit in the 70s and 80s, perfect for winery patios. September through November delivers harvest season. Grapes come in, new wines release, and the heat breaks. October is peak season – book rooms months ahead. Peach season runs June through July. Every roadside stand sells Hill Country peaches, but it's hot and crowded. Winter works if you don't mind 40-degree mornings. Many wineries close or reduce hours December through February. Oktoberfest weekend in early October draws 100,000+ people. Fun but insane. Christmas market in December brings German traditions and mulled wine.
