All Months
April through September offers the best weather in Harare. You'll get clear skies, mild temperatures around 70-75°F, and virtually no rain. This is Zimbabwe's winter and dry season — perfect for exploring the city on foot.
May and June are particularly sweet. The jacaranda trees bloom purple along the main avenues, creating Instagram-worthy scenes throughout the CBD. Hotel prices stay reasonable since it's not peak safari season.
July can get chilly at night — pack a jacket. Daytime temperatures hover around 65°F, ideal for walking tours and outdoor markets. This is also when most cultural festivals happen.
Avoid December through March if possible. The rainy season brings afternoon thunderstorms, high humidity, and occasional flooding in low-lying areas. Some roads become impassable and outdoor activities get disrupted.
September marks the end of dry season. Temperatures start climbing toward 80°F but rain hasn't started yet. It's a good compromise if you can't travel during peak months.
