All Months
October through March is prime time. The monsoon ends in September, temperatures drop to a comfortable 15-28°C, and the city comes alive. December and January are perfect — cool mornings, warm afternoons, and clear skies for sightseeing.
Avoid April through June unless you enjoy 40°C+ heat and power cuts. The summer here is brutal, and even locals escape to hill stations during peak summer months.
The monsoon (July-September) brings relief from the heat but also flooding in low-lying areas. The Old City around Charminar can get waterlogged during heavy rains. But the city looks beautiful after a good shower, and hotel rates drop significantly.
Festival season (October-November) is special here. Diwali celebrations light up the entire city, and the Bonalu festival in July-August showcases the local culture. Just book accommodation early during festival periods — the city fills up with domestic tourists.
