Kennebunkport in February
Not the best time
Still deep winter territory with most of the town locked up tight. February can deliver some of Maine's most severe weather, but also some of its most dramatic coastal scenery.
Weather
February continues the deep freeze with slightly longer days but equally harsh conditions. Snow storms roll through regularly, and the harbor often has ice formations. The nor'easters can be particularly brutal this month.

- •Walker's Point offers dramatic winter photography opportunities
All Months
July and August bring perfect weather and maximum crowds. Ocean temperatures hit 65 degrees — actually swimmable for brave souls. But hotel rates double, and you'll wait 45 minutes for lobster rolls.
September is the sweet spot. Crowds thin out after Labor Day, but restaurants stay open and weather remains gorgeous. Foliage starts showing up in late September, adding extra color to coastal drives.
June offers mild weather and lower prices, though some seasonal spots don't open until July 4th weekend. October can be magical with fall colors, but pack layers — coastal Maine turns chilly fast.
