La Palma in February
Not the best time
February offers Carnival magic in Santa Cruz but weather remains challenging for outdoor activities. The celebrations make it worth considering if you can handle some rain. Otherwise, wait for spring.
Weather
February continues the wet season pattern with regular rainfall and cloudy days. The weather starts to stabilize slightly compared to January but still unpredictable. Mornings often start foggy, especially in the mountains.

All Months
April through June gives you the best hiking weather — warm days, cool nights, and spring wildflowers covering the mountainsides. Temperatures sit around 22°C, perfect for tackling the GR-131 trail system. This is peak season for serious hikers, so book accommodations early.
September through November offers another sweet spot. Summer crowds thin out, but the weather stays warm enough for beach days. October brings the grape harvest in Fuencaliente — local wineries open their doors for tastings.
Winter works if you stick to lower elevations, but mountain trails can close due to snow and fog. The Roque de los Muchachos observatory shuts down frequently during winter months. Summer gets crowded and hot, especially in July and August when Spanish families vacation here.
