Great time to visit

July brings perfect weather but also peak season crowds and prices. The conditions are flawless but you'll be sharing paradise with everyone else.

Weather

Peak dry season delivers endless blue skies and minimal humidity around 60%. Trade winds keep temperatures feeling cooler than they are. Rain becomes a rare sight with maybe 2-3 wet days total.

July Tips

  • Book everything months in advance - hotels, restaurants, and tours fill up
  • Arrive at popular beaches early morning to secure good spots
  • Consider staying in less touristy areas like East Lombok

All Months

April through September delivers Lombok's best weather – dry skies, steady trade winds, and comfortable temperatures around 28°C. This is also peak season, so expect higher prices and busier beaches, especially on the Gilis. July and August see the biggest crowds as European summer holidays kick in. May and September offer the sweet spot: great weather with fewer tourists and better deals on accommodation. The wet season runs October through March, but don't write it off completely. December and January bring heavy rains that can last for days, making Mount Rinjani treks impossible and turning dirt roads into mud pits. But February and March see lighter, shorter showers that cool things down nicely. Plus, accommodation prices drop by 40% and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself. Just pack a rain jacket and embrace the tropical drama. Ramadan affects the entire island – restaurants close during daylight hours and the party scene dims considerably.
