Luang Prabang in February
Great time to visit
Another excellent month that locals call the sweet spot of dry season. Weather remains perfect but crowds start to thin slightly compared to January.
Weather
February continues the dry season with slightly warmer days but still comfortable nights. Humidity remains low and skies stay clear most days. The occasional cool breeze from the mountains makes evenings pleasant.

All Months
November through March delivers Luang Prabang's goldilocks weather - not too hot, not too rainy, just right for temple hopping and waterfall swimming. December and January see the most crowds and highest prices, but temperatures hover around a perfect 25°C with minimal rainfall.
April gets brutally hot before the monsoons arrive in May. We're talking 40°C days that make climbing Mount Phousi feel like a death march. The rains from June to October turn dirt roads to mud and make some waterfalls inaccessible, but you'll have temples mostly to yourself.
Here's the insider timing: arrive in late November when the weather turns pleasant but high season rates haven't kicked in yet. Or brave the October shoulder season when rains taper off but crowds haven't returned. The Mekong runs high and brown during rainy season, but Kuang Si Falls flows at full power.
Avoid Lao New Year in mid-April unless you enjoy water fights in 38°C heat. The Pi Mai festival brings massive crowds and everything shuts down for three days.
