Spring and fall are perfect for walking Harlem's tree-lined streets. April through June brings mild weather and outdoor concerts in Marcus Garvey Park. The brownstones look incredible when the trees bloom. Summer gets hot and humid, but that's when the neighborhood really comes alive. Block parties happen every weekend, and you'll find live music on seemingly every corner. Just pack light clothes and stay hydrated. Winter can be brutal with wind whipping down the avenues. But indoor venues like the Apollo Theater and jazz clubs stay packed, and you'll find better deals on accommodations. Plus, there's something magical about hearing live jazz while snow falls outside.
