Winter is mild but unpredictable. December through February sees highs in the 60s, but cold fronts can drop temperatures into the 30s overnight. Many beach activities shut down, but casinos and restaurants stay open. Hotel rates hit rock bottom — sometimes under $60 per night. Avoid Mardi Gras season unless you're here for it.
