Mombasa in February
Great time to visit
Another stellar month with near-perfect conditions. Slightly less crowded than January but still expensive and busy around major beaches and attractions.
Weather
February continues the dry season magic with warm days and cool evenings. Humidity stays manageable thanks to consistent trade winds from the Indian Ocean. You'll see maybe a brief shower or two, but nothing that disrupts beach plans.

All Months
Mombasa's weather runs on two seasons: hot and hotter. The 'cool' season from June to September sees temperatures around 26°C, making it bearable for sightseeing. December through March brings the heat – 32°C daily with humidity that makes everything stick to your skin.
Rains arrive twice yearly. Long rains from April to May turn streets into rivers and make beach time miserable. Short rains in November last only a few weeks but can dump serious water. Hotel prices drop 30% during rainy seasons, but you'll understand why.
December and January see the biggest crowds as European winter refugees arrive. Beach hotels jack up prices, and popular restaurants require reservations. But the weather stays perfect for swimming, and cultural festivals like Maulidi celebrations add local flavor.
June through August offers the sweet spot – fewer tourists, lower prices, and manageable temperatures. The Indian Ocean stays warm year-round at 26°C, so swimming never stops being an option.
