Northeast Ohio in July
Great time to visit
July is one of the best months to visit Northeast Ohio.
All Months
May through September is your sweet spot. Lake Erie moderates temperatures, keeping summers from getting too hot. July averages 83°F, perfect for hiking or hanging at Edgewater Beach.
Summer brings festival season. The Cleveland Orchestra performs at Blossom Music Center from June through September. The Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy happens every August — free admission, great food, live music.
Fall colors peak in Cuyahoga Valley National Park around mid-October. The Ledges Trail looks spectacular, and you'll have cooler hiking temperatures. But pack layers — October mornings can hit 40°F while afternoons warm to 65°F.
Winter is rough. Lake-effect snow off Lake Erie can dump serious accumulation. Cleveland averages 68 inches of snow annually. The upside? Hotel rates drop by 40%, and you'll have museums mostly to yourself. Just don't plan outdoor activities.
Spring arrives late, usually not until May. April can still see snow, and Lake Erie stays cold until June. But spring training for the Cleveland Guardians starts in March if you're a baseball fan.
