April through May and September through October are your sweet spots. Spring brings the College World Series in June, which packs hotels and jacks up prices. Fall weather is perfect for walking around the Old Market or hitting the zoo. Summer gets hot and humid, but that's festival season. The Omaha Summer Arts Festival happens in June. Winter is brutal. January averages 20 degrees and the wind cuts through downtown like a knife. But hotel rates drop and you'll have restaurants to yourself. The Henry Doorly Zoo stays open year-round with indoor exhibits, so even winter visits work if you're traveling with kids.
