Park City in October
Not the best time
October is another shoulder season month with unpredictable weather. Good for budget travelers, but many activities are winding down for winter prep.
Weather
Classic fall mountain weather with chilly mornings and mild afternoons. First snow often appears on the peaks by month's end. Weather becomes increasingly unpredictable as winter approaches.

October Tips
- •Many outdoor activities start closing for the season
- •Great deals on hotels before ski season
- •Check operating hours - some attractions run limited schedules
All Months
Peak ski season runs December through March, with January and February offering the most consistent powder. But you'll pay top dollar - lift tickets hit $200+ per day, and hotels triple their rates. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and Presidents Day are absolute chaos.
March brings spring skiing with longer days and better deals. The snow can get heavy and wet, but you'll save $100+ per night on accommodations.
Summer transforms Park City into a different animal. June through August sees mountain biking, hiking, and the Sundance Film Festival in late January. Hotel rates drop significantly, and the alpine slide at Park City Mountain opens for kids.
September might be the sweet spot - warm days, cool nights, and the aspen trees turn golden. Most summer activities are still running, but the crowds thin out after Labor Day.
Avoid late April and May unless you enjoy mud season. Most mountain activities shut down, and the town feels sleepy.
