December through March brings warm weather perfect for lake activities and volcano hikes. January and February are peak season — expect crowds and higher prices, but also the best weather and longest days. December offers a sweet spot with fewer tourists but still reliable sunshine. March delivers cooler temperatures and stunning autumn colors around the lake. Winter (June-August) sees snow on the volcano and much quieter streets, but many tour operators close and lake activities become limited. Spring (September-November) can be unpredictable with rain and wind, though you'll find better deals and blooming landscapes.
