All Months

April through October delivers San Diego's legendary weather. Temperatures hover between 65-75°F with minimal rain. But these are also peak tourist months with higher prices and crowds. Summer (June-August) means perfect beach weather but also Comic-Con in July, which books up hotels citywide. Hotel rates spike to $300+ per night during the convention. Fall (September-November) might be the sweet spot. Ocean temperatures peak in September, crowds thin out after Labor Day, and hotel prices drop 20-30%. Winter brings the city's only real rain, mostly January and February. But temperatures still hit 65°F most days. Hotel rates drop to their lowest, sometimes under $150/night downtown. Spring (March-May) offers great weather with wildflower blooms in the desert areas. Baseball season starts, and the city feels energized. Avoid visiting during major conventions like Comic-Con (July) or the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon (June) unless you're participating. Everything books up and prices double.
