All Months
July brings perfect weather, cherry harvest, and massive crowds for the National Cherry Festival. Hotel rates triple and reservations disappear months ahead. August offers similar weather with slightly fewer people - the beaches stay warm through Labor Day. September and October deliver the real magic. Fall colors peak around October 10th, wine harvest happens, and you can actually get dinner reservations. November through March sees snow and most attractions close, but cross-country skiing at Vasa Trail draws winter lovers. May can be gorgeous or soggy - the weather's unpredictable but tulips bloom at Washington Park. June works well for families before school's out everywhere else. Skip April unless you enjoy gray skies and muddy trails.
