All Months
October through April is prime time. Daytime temperatures hover in the 70s and 80s, perfect for hiking and exploring. January and February can get chilly at night — pack layers. But here's what locals know: May and September offer the sweet spot of fewer crowds and decent weather. Summer is brutal. We're talking 110°F days from June through August. Hotels slash rates, but you'll be trapped indoors from 10 AM to 6 PM. The monsoon season runs July through September, bringing afternoon thunderstorms that can flood washes in minutes. If you visit in summer, plan activities for early morning or evening. Winter brings snowbirds — retirees escaping cold climates — so expect higher prices and busier restaurants from December through March.
