This is peak tourist season — book accommodations early and expect higher prices. July brings the Naadam Festival, Mongolia's biggest celebration featuring wrestling, horse racing, and archery. The city becomes crowded but electric with energy. September is ideal if you want fewer crowds and still-pleasant weather. Temperatures drop to 50-60°F but you'll have clearer views of the surrounding mountains. Winter visits from November to March mean temperatures plunging to -20°F or lower.
