Varna in February
Not the best time
February remains firmly in winter's grip. Most visitors skip this month entirely, and honestly, they're not missing much unless you're chasing rock-bottom prices and empty streets.
Weather
February stays brutally cold with the Black Sea still churning up icy winds. Snow becomes more likely this month, sometimes creating beautiful but brief winter scenes along the coast. The dampness makes everything feel colder than it actually is.

All Months
May through September gives you the full Varna experience, but each month feels different. May and September offer perfect weather (22-25°C) with fewer crowds and cheaper accommodation. The sea's still cold in May, but the city comes alive as cafes move their tables outside. July and August bring peak season chaos — hotel prices double, beaches pack with Bulgarian families, and temperatures hit 30°C. But this is also when the nightlife scene explodes and beach clubs operate at full capacity. June hits the sweet spot: warm enough for swimming, long daylight hours, and reasonable prices. Winter here is gray and windy — skip it unless you're only interested in museums and indoor attractions.
