Vilnius in March
Good time to visit
March plays hard to get with spring - some gorgeous sunny days mixed with plenty of grey slush. The St. Casimir Fair makes it worthwhile for culture lovers, but weather remains unpredictable.
Weather
March teases spring but delivers more winter mood swings. Temperatures creep above freezing during sunny afternoons, but mornings often start with frost. Rain mixed with sleet becomes common as snow finally starts melting in earnest.

All Months
May through September gives you the best weather and longest days. July means 18+ hours of daylight, which sounds amazing until you're trying to sleep at 11 PM with sunlight streaming through your windows.
June hits the sweet spot - warm enough for outdoor dining, not yet crowded with tour groups, and the city's numerous festivals are in full swing. The Midsummer Festival (Joninės) in late June is worth timing your trip around.
September brings fewer crowds and beautiful autumn colors in the surrounding forests. October gets chilly fast, and by November you're looking at 8 hours of daylight and temperatures that'll freeze your face off.
Winter can be magical if you don't mind the cold. Christmas markets fill Cathedral Square, and the Old Town looks like a fairy tale under snow. Just pack serious winter gear - we're talking -15°C on bad days.
