Zagreb in March
Good time to visit
March is Zagreb's moody teenager phase - unpredictable, occasionally pleasant, but mostly just figuring itself out. You'll catch glimpses of the beautiful city Zagreb can be, between the rain showers.
Weather
March teases you with the promise of spring but delivers plenty of cold snaps and rain showers. Some days hit a pleasant 15°C, others drop back to winter levels. It's jacket weather with an umbrella as your constant companion.

March Tips
- •Layer everything - you'll be peeling clothes off and putting them back on all day
- •The Film Festival brings some buzz to the city, but book cinema tickets early
- •Cafes start opening their terraces on sunny days - grab those fleeting outdoor moments
All Months
April through October gives you the best of Zagreb without the coastal crowds. Spring (April-May) brings perfect walking weather and outdoor café season - temperatures hover around 18°C. Summer (June-August) can hit 30°C, but the city doesn't empty out like coastal towns. This is when outdoor festivals like INmusic happen in June. Fall (September-October) might be ideal - warm days, cool evenings, and the city's cultural season kicks into high gear. Winter isn't terrible if you're into Christmas markets and cozy indoor scenes, but expect grey skies and 2°C temperatures. The Advent Market runs December through January and transforms Jelačić Square into something magical. Avoid late November - it's cold but not festive yet.
