AlUla in December
Great time to visit
Peak season begins with weather that makes every dollar worth it. Crowds and prices reach their highest, but December's perfect conditions showcase why AlUla becomes Saudi Arabia's premier winter escape.
Weather
December delivers pristine desert winter with comfortable 24°C highs and crisp 11°C lows. Morning frost occasionally appears on desert plants. Clear, dry air makes every star visible in the unpolluted night sky.

All Months
Winter is AlUla's golden season. November through March brings perfect weather with daytime temperatures in the 70s-80s°F and cool evenings perfect for stargazing. This is when all the outdoor activities and desert camps operate.
December and January are peak season. Hotels charge premium rates, and popular experiences book out weeks in advance. But the weather is absolutely perfect — crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and clear skies almost every day.
February and March offer the best balance of good weather and lower crowds. You'll still get those perfect desert days, but with more availability and slightly better prices.
Avoid summer completely. July and August see temperatures soar above 110°F, making outdoor exploration miserable. Most luxury camps close during these months, and even air-conditioned activities become uncomfortable.
The shoulder months of April and November can work if you're budget-conscious, but expect some hot days and limited activity schedules.
