Great time to visit
This is AlUla's golden month - perfect weather meets peak crowds and prices. The desert comes alive with festivals, but you'll pay premium rates and fight for reservations everywhere.
Weather
Peak season weather hits differently in the desert. January mornings can drop to 8°C, but afternoons warm to a perfect 22°C with crystal-clear skies. Rain is practically non-existent.

All Months
Winter is AlUla's golden season. November through March brings perfect weather with daytime temperatures in the 70s-80s°F and cool evenings perfect for stargazing. This is when all the outdoor activities and desert camps operate.
December and January are peak season. Hotels charge premium rates, and popular experiences book out weeks in advance. But the weather is absolutely perfect — crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and clear skies almost every day.
February and March offer the best balance of good weather and lower crowds. You'll still get those perfect desert days, but with more availability and slightly better prices.
Avoid summer completely. July and August see temperatures soar above 110°F, making outdoor exploration miserable. Most luxury camps close during these months, and even air-conditioned activities become uncomfortable.
The shoulder months of April and November can work if you're budget-conscious, but expect some hot days and limited activity schedules.
