All Months
November through February offers the sweet spot—dry air, temperatures around 25-30°C during the day, and cool nights. This is peak season, so book accommodations early.
March and April get brutally hot. We're talking 40°C+ in the shade, and the harmattan winds blow dust everywhere. Your camera lens will need constant cleaning. But hotel prices drop and you'll have tourist sites to yourself.
May through October brings the rains. Streets flood, power cuts increase, and humidity makes everything sticky. But the city turns green, mango season arrives, and evening thunderstorms create dramatic skies.
Ramadan affects the city's rhythm regardless of season. Restaurants close during the day, and everything moves slower. But sunset brings incredible energy as families break their fast together. If you're here during Ramadan, respect the customs and enjoy the evening celebrations.
