All Months
November through March is the sweet spot - daytime temperatures hover around 70-75°F, perfect for exploring without melting. December and January can get surprisingly cool at night, so pack layers.
Summer is brutal. We're talking 100°F+ with crushing humidity and dust storms that turn the sky brown. Tourist sites are empty, but there's a reason - it's genuinely miserable.
Ramadan adds another layer of complexity. Many restaurants close during daylight hours, though tourist areas stay open. The flip side? Iftar celebrations after sunset create an incredible atmosphere, especially around Islamic Cairo.
Avoid major Egyptian holidays like Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha when everything shuts down and domestic tourism peaks. Flight prices spike too.
Weekends (Friday-Saturday) see Egyptian families flood tourist sites. Thursday nights bring out Cairo's party crowd, especially in Zamalek.
