Cluj-Napoca in February
Not the best time
Still winter's grip, but slightly less punishing than January. You'll get better hotel deals and restaurant reservations are easy to snag. The city feels authentically Romanian without tourist crowds.
Weather
February stays stubbornly cold with snow still blanketing the city most days. Temperatures hover just below freezing, creating that persistent dampness that seeps through everything. By month's end, you might catch the first hints of spring - a day or two above 5°C if you're lucky.

February Tips

- •Sidewalks get icy after snow melts and refreezes - bring shoes with good grip
- •Museum hopping becomes your best friend - they're warm and less crowded
All Months
May through September gives you the best weather, but each season has its charm. Spring arrives early — by April, the terraces are full and the city sheds its winter coat. Summer means festivals every weekend, including the massive Electric Castle in July. But it also means crowds and higher prices. September is perfect — warm days, cool evenings, and the students are back, which means the city buzzes with energy. October brings beautiful fall colors to Central Park and fewer tourists. Winter isn't terrible if you can handle some snow, plus you'll have the city mostly to yourself. The Christmas market in Unirii Square runs through December and into January. Just know that many outdoor attractions close or reduce hours from November to March.
