Cluj-Napoca in July
Great time to visit
July brings peak summer heat and peak tourist season. The city pulses with festivals and outdoor events, but you'll pay premium prices for everything. Perfect if you love hot weather and don't mind crowds competing for shade.
Weather
July delivers classic summer heat - days regularly hit 28°C with sticky nights that hover around 17°C. Afternoon thunderstorms become less predictable, sometimes skipping days entirely. When storms do hit, they're often dramatic affairs with lightning shows over the Carpathian mountains visible from the city center.

All Months
May through September gives you the best weather, but each season has its charm. Spring arrives early — by April, the terraces are full and the city sheds its winter coat. Summer means festivals every weekend, including the massive Electric Castle in July. But it also means crowds and higher prices. September is perfect — warm days, cool evenings, and the students are back, which means the city buzzes with energy. October brings beautiful fall colors to Central Park and fewer tourists. Winter isn't terrible if you can handle some snow, plus you'll have the city mostly to yourself. The Christmas market in Unirii Square runs through December and into January. Just know that many outdoor attractions close or reduce hours from November to March.
