Hamburg in November
Good time to visit
November marks the return to Hamburg's gray season. Not terrible, but you'll spend more time indoors than out unless you really love dramatic weather.
Weather
November brings gray skies back to Hamburg with increasing rain and dropping temperatures. The days get noticeably shorter, and that North Sea wind starts to bite again.

All Months
May through September gives you Hamburg's best weather and longest days. Summer brings temperatures around 20-25°C and daylight until 10pm – perfect for canal walks and beer garden sessions.
July means festival season. The Altonale street festival takes over the Altona district with live music, food trucks, and art installations. The Hamburg DOM funfair runs three times yearly, but summer offers the most pleasant experience.
September delivers ideal conditions without peak crowds. The weather stays warm but tourists thin out after school holidays end. Hotel prices drop 20-30% compared to July.
Winter Hamburg has its charm – Christmas markets fill Rathausmarkt and Mönckebergstraße with Glühwein stands and handcrafted gifts. But expect grey skies, 4°C temperatures, and darkness by 4pm. The upside? Cheaper accommodation and cozy pub sessions.
Avoid March and November. These shoulder months bring unpredictable weather, frequent rain, and limited daylight without winter's festive atmosphere.
