Huntsville in June
Not the best time
June marks the beginning of Alabama's brutal summer. You'll spend more time indoors than you'd like, but at least the Space Center's air conditioning works overtime.
Weather
June cranks up the heat with highs pushing into the upper 80s and humidity that makes it feel even hotter. Afternoon thunderstorms provide brief relief but often make the air feel heavier afterward. Nights stay warm and muggy.

All Months
Spring and fall give you the best weather in Huntsville. March through May brings mild temperatures in the 60s-70s and blooming dogwoods throughout the historic districts. September through November offers similar conditions with bonus fall colors in the surrounding Tennessee Valley. Summer gets hot and humid — we're talking 90+ degrees with sticky air that makes walking around downtown unpleasant. But hotel rates drop to their lowest in July and August if you can handle the heat. Winter stays relatively mild compared to northern cities, with highs in the 50s-60s, though you might hit a cold snap. The Space & Rocket Center runs year-round, and indoor attractions like the EarlyWorks museums don't care about weather. Avoid late April when the Panoply Arts Festival packs downtown hotels.
