Kraków in March
Good time to visit
March is Kraków's moody teenager phase - unpredictable and occasionally pleasant. Good for budget travelers who don't mind playing weather roulette.
Weather
March teases you with spring but delivers plenty of winter's leftovers. Rain mixes with occasional snow, creating that miserable slush that soaks through everything. Temperatures creep up slowly, but don't pack away your heavy coat just yet - March can still surprise you with a blizzard.

- •Museum season continues with fewer crowds than summer
All Months
May through September gives you the full Kraków experience. The Old Town comes alive with outdoor dining, street musicians fill the squares, and you can actually enjoy walking the cobblestones without frozen fingers.
June and July are peak season — expect crowds at Wawel Castle and higher hotel rates. But the weather is reliable and everything stays open late. August can be sweltering; those medieval buildings trap heat like ovens.
April and September are sweet spots. Fewer tourists, pleasant weather, and you'll save 30% on accommodation. The autumn colors in Planty Park (the green ring around the Old Town) are worth the trip alone.
Winter has its charm if you don't mind cold. The Christmas market transforms Main Market Square into something magical, and mulled wine tastes better when you're actually cold.
