Kraków in October
Good time to visit
October offers autumn magic with manageable crowds and reasonable prices. The city looks like a fairy tale, minus the summer tourist chaos.
Weather
October brings crisp autumn air with golden leaves transforming Planty Park into a photographer's dream. Days stay pleasant but evenings turn chilly, perfect for ducking into cozy pubs. Rain becomes more frequent toward month's end, but the fall colors make even gray days beautiful.

All Months
May through September gives you the full Kraków experience. The Old Town comes alive with outdoor dining, street musicians fill the squares, and you can actually enjoy walking the cobblestones without frozen fingers.
June and July are peak season — expect crowds at Wawel Castle and higher hotel rates. But the weather is reliable and everything stays open late. August can be sweltering; those medieval buildings trap heat like ovens.
April and September are sweet spots. Fewer tourists, pleasant weather, and you'll save 30% on accommodation. The autumn colors in Planty Park (the green ring around the Old Town) are worth the trip alone.
Winter has its charm if you don't mind cold. The Christmas market transforms Main Market Square into something magical, and mulled wine tastes better when you're actually cold.
