Great time to visit

Weather
August maintains the perfect dry season conditions with wall-to-wall sunshine. Temperatures peak at 33°C but ocean breezes keep things bearable. Rain is practically non-existent - maybe one brief shower all month.

- •Liveaboard diving trips book out 3-4 months in advance for August slots
All Months
April through October is your sweet spot for weather and diving conditions. The seas are calmer, visibility underwater hits 30+ meters, and you won't spend half your Komodo trip getting seasick.
July and August bring the crowds and highest prices, but also the most reliable weather. Book boats and accommodation well in advance during these months.
The shoulder seasons — April-May and September-October — offer the best balance. Fewer tourists, decent weather, and dive operators often have last-minute spots available.
Avoid November through March if possible. The rainy season brings choppy seas, reduced visibility, and some boat operators suspend trips to the outer islands. Plus, the humidity makes everything feel sticky and uncomfortable.
Here's an insider tip: visit during the full moon if you're into underwater photography. The extra light helps with wide-angle shots, and manta rays seem more active during these periods.
