Mysore in April
Good time to visit
Getting quite hot but tourist crowds disappear and prices drop. Manageable if you time your activities right and don't mind sweating a bit.
Weather
April brings the heat with hot afternoons that can feel oppressive. Mornings are still manageable but temperatures climb quickly after sunrise. Occasional pre-monsoon showers provide brief relief from the building humidity.

All Months
October through March offers Mysore's sweet spot — clear skies, temperatures around 20-25°C, and manageable humidity. December and January are peak months when the city feels most comfortable for walking and sightseeing. But here's what most guides won't tell you: the monsoon months of June through September transform the city into something magical. The Chamundi Hills turn emerald green, and the rain-washed palace stones gleam. Just pack an umbrella and waterproof shoes. Avoid April and May unless you enjoy 35°C heat and sticky afternoons. If you're planning around festivals, Dasara in September or October brings the city to life with processions and palace illuminations, but also crowds and higher hotel rates.
