Not the best time
Still deep in monsoon season with frequent rain and high humidity. Bottom-tier pricing but weather continues to be a major constraint on activities.
Weather
August continues the monsoon pattern with regular heavy showers and consistently high humidity. While temperatures remain moderate, the constant dampness makes everything feel sticky and uncomfortable.

All Months
October through March offers Mysore's sweet spot — clear skies, temperatures around 20-25°C, and manageable humidity. December and January are peak months when the city feels most comfortable for walking and sightseeing. But here's what most guides won't tell you: the monsoon months of June through September transform the city into something magical. The Chamundi Hills turn emerald green, and the rain-washed palace stones gleam. Just pack an umbrella and waterproof shoes. Avoid April and May unless you enjoy 35°C heat and sticky afternoons. If you're planning around festivals, Dasara in September or October brings the city to life with processions and palace illuminations, but also crowds and higher hotel rates.
