Novi Sad in February
Not the best time
February might be the least appealing month to visit Novi Sad. The weather is dreary and unpredictable, most outdoor attractions are unpleasant, and the city lacks the festive energy that makes winter bearable elsewhere.
Weather
February continues the winter pattern with slightly less snow but persistent cold. The city feels quiet and dormant, with about 9-10 wet days mixing rain and snow. Temperatures rarely climb above 5°C.

February Tips
- •This is the absolute cheapest time for accommodation
- •Kafanas (traditional taverns) are your best bet for warm meals and atmosphere
- •Bring layers - indoor heating varies wildly between venues
All Months
July means EXIT Festival, which transforms the city but also triples accommodation prices. If you're not here for the music, skip this month unless you book way ahead and don't mind crowds.
May through September gives you the best weather and outdoor life. The Danube beaches open up, street festivals happen regularly, and you can actually enjoy walking around. August gets hot - we're talking 35°C+ some days - but the river keeps things bearable.
Shoulder seasons work well too. September still has warm days but fewer tourists. May can be rainy, but when it's nice, the city feels perfect. Winter gets cold and gray, though the Christmas market in Trg Slobode has its charm if you don't mind bundling up.
