May through October delivers Upolu's sweet spot — less rain, lower humidity, and trade winds that actually provide relief from the heat. June brings the Teuila Festival, Samoa's biggest cultural celebration. Hotels book up months in advance, but the traditional dancing, fire shows, and food stalls make it worth planning around. The festival runs for a week and showcases the best of Samoan culture. December and January are popular with New Zealand and Australian families on summer holidays.
