Tehran in July
Not the best time
Hot enough that you'll need to plan around the heat, but rock-bottom tourist numbers mean great deals. Early mornings and evenings can still be magical.
Weather
July brings Tehran's summer heat in full force. Expect hot, dry days with intense sunshine that makes midday exploration uncomfortable. The saving grace? Virtually no humidity and cool nights in the mountains.

July Tips
- •Plan indoor activities from 11am-4pm – museums, bazaars, and shopping centers become havens
- •Head north to Darband or Tochal for cooler temperatures and mountain air
- •Many locals escape to the Caspian coast, so the city feels quieter
All Months
Spring and fall are golden seasons when Tehran sheds its harsh reputation. April through May brings perfect weather and the city's parks burst with Persian New Year celebrations. October and November offer crisp mountain air and clear views of snow-capped peaks. Summer heat can be brutal — temperatures hit 40°C (104°F) and the smog gets worse. But summer also means fewer crowds and rock-bottom hotel prices. Winter brings snow to the mountains and surprisingly cold temperatures downtown. The ski season runs December through March, making it perfect for combining city exploration with slope time at Dizin or Shemshak resorts just two hours north.
