Arugam Bay in July
Great time to visit
July cranks up the heat along with the wave quality. Peak season pricing meets peak season crowds, but the surf rarely disappoints committed wave riders.
Weather
July maintains the dry pattern with consistent southeast trades. Temperatures peak for the year, and humidity stays low around 55%. You might see a brief afternoon shower once every two weeks, if that.

All Months
April through September is surf season, and that's when Arugam Bay comes alive. The waves are consistent, the weather's dry, and everything's open. But it's also crowded and expensive by Sri Lankan standards.
May and June are the sweet spot - waves are still firing, but the crowds thin out after Easter holidays. You'll get better deals on accommodation and actually have space on the beach.
Here's what nobody tells you: October through March is monsoon season on the east coast. Most surf camps close, half the restaurants shut down, and it can rain for days. But if you're not here for waves, this is when you'll have the place almost to yourself.
Avoid April if you hate crowds. It's Easter holiday season for Sri Lankans, and the bay gets packed with families and domestic tourists.
