Winter transforms Banff into a snowy wonderland with three ski areas: Sunshine Village, Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Mount Norquay. December through February brings reliable snow and temperatures around 15°F, perfect for skiing but brutal for sightseeing. March offers spring skiing with longer days. Avoid April and May – it's mud season with unpredictable weather and many mountain roads still closed.
